The relationship between systemic immune-inflammation indexes and treatment response in locally advanced esophageal cancer

Aim: Systemic immune-inflammation indexes have been reported to be associated with clinical outcomes in several malignancies. Herein, we aimed evaluate the potential relationship between prognostic nutritional index (PNI), systemic (SII), neutrophil- to- lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte- (MLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR) and treatment response patients esophageal cancer who underwent neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CRT).Material Method: Esophageal (EC) CRT were retrospectively enrolled study. Immune-inflammation calculated from pretreatment blood counts samples obtained. The relationships PNI, SII, NLR, MLR, PLR values, response, overall survival (OS) rates examined.Results: data of 103 EC referred Radiation Oncology Clinic Dr Abdurrahman Yurtaslan Ankara Training Research Hospital analyzed. In univariate analysis for OS, alcohol consumption, agent, PLR, SII PNI found as factors. Also consumption was an independent factor multivariate analyzes (HR:5.201, 95% CI:1.9-14.2, p=0.01). Conclusion: our study, high low values were not poor factors but lower OS observed values.
